Radiohead to drop new single ‘I Promise’ this Friday

Radiohead

On June 23, Radiohead will release the 20th anniversary expanded reissue of OK Computer. Included on the album is the previously-unreleased track “I Promise,” which will precede the deluxe box set, dropping as a single on Friday, June 2.

“I Promise” was debuted live back in 1996 during Radiohead’s OK Computer tour. Unofficial recordings of the track have since circulated across the internet but Friday’s release marks the first time listeners will hear it with a studio treatment.

Radiohead’s new OK Computer reissue, entitled OKNOTOK, will be made available via double disc CD, digital, three-piece and boxed edition vinyl. Joining “I Promise” (included in all media formats) are two other previously-unreleased studio tracks — “Lift” and “Man Of War” — and a handful of assorted rarities.

All 12 tracks from OK Computer will be remastered from the original analogue tapes, as will the three unreleased tracks and another eight B-sides. Additionally, the boxed vinyl edition will include a hardcover book with tons of never-before-seen artwork, 104 pages of Thom Yorke’s notes, mix tapes, demos and much more.
