Once a month, Los Angeles comedy fans have been treated to a one-of-a-kind live show, entitled the Goddamn Comedy Jam, which features top comedians sharing candid stories and singing a cover song to accompany the sentiment. Now, everyone can experience the fun without having to visit The Roxy as Comedy Central has announced that it will be airing The Comedy Jam as an eight episode series starting in 2017.

The announcement follows the success of the Goddamn Comedy Jam special, which premiered on the cable network in August of this year. Natasha Leggero, Adam Devine, and Jim Jefferies – who delivered a spot-on impression of Liam Gallagher during his cover of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” – were all featured in the show. Each episode of The Comedy Jam series will feature stand-up comedians performing popular songs in front of a live audience. The Comedy Jam Band will be on hand to provide the musical accompaniments.

“We have been working under the false impression that what comedians want most is to have television and digital platforms to further their comedy careers,” said Kent Alterman, President of Comedy Central, in a statement. “It turns out they really just want to be rock stars.” The Comedy Jam is executive produced by Josh Adam Meyers, Mike and Tim Duffy and Joel Gallen, who will also serve as the series’ director.

The Comedy Jam joins Comedy Central’s already stacked 2017 itinerary. New specials have already been announced from Kurt Braunohler, Joe DeRosa and Mark Normand – whose upcoming special Don’t Be Yourself is being presented by Amy Schumer. The remainder of 2016 also has several highly-anticipated specials debuting on the network from the likes of Kyle Kinane, Pete Davidson and Roy Wood Jr.
