Listen: Tim Heidecker impersonates Bob Dylan on “Talkin’ Nobel Prize”

With Season 8 of On Cinema at the Cinema having just wrapped, Tim Heidecker is taking a musical turn with his latest release. This past Thursday, the full-time comedian, part-time musician released a new track, channeling The Voice of Protest with a hilarious Bob Dylan impersonation on his track “Talkin’ Nobel Prize.” Check out the ode to the Nobel prize winner below, courtesy of SoundCloud.

Heidecker is back in full force with his latest musical gift for the masses. With its spot-on vocal track and accompanying simplistic acoustic riffs, his new track — “Talkin’ Nobel Prize” — will undoubtedly be a smash hit with his existing fanbase. Thanks to his dedication to impersonation, he may even win over a few hardcore Dylan-heads who weren’t yet aware of his existence.

“I don’t need your prize babe / I don’t need your prize / Just look into my eyes babe and see how I despise the prize / See how I despise the prize.”

This isn’t Heidecker’s first foray into producing music. He has released work with comedic collaborator Eric Wareheim, he is a member of both bands Heidecker & Wood and The Yellow River Boys and he more recently released a solo record In Glendale in May of this year. With regards to Dylan, the comedian has also spoofed the man on a number of prior occasions over the years, probably most notably back in 2012 with his epic 15-minute-long track “Titanic.”

More recently — to the ire of his On Cinema co-host… err… recurring guest, Gregg Turkington — Heidecker premiered “MT BTL 2.0” (a party-rocking EDM rendition of the Dekkar track “Empty Bottle”) from his latest collaboration with Axiom, DKR. Check out the On Cinema Season 8 finale below, in which — believe it or not — the duo even found some time to review a couple of recent movies.
