UPDATE: On 2/21 it was announced that Stabbing Westward will also be performing this year’s PIQNIQ.

With the massive number of festivals clouding the airwaves these days it’s difficult to keep track of them all. One such Chicago-area festival you don’t want to let slip under the radar in 2017 is 101 WKQX’s PIQNIQ. The single-day fest, which will go down at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park on May 20, has just announced its lineup, to be topped by The 1975, Bleachers and Jimmy Eat World.

PIQNIQ headliners The 1975 most recently announced a 2017 tour across North America. The English indie pop group led by frontman Matthew Healy will get things started with a trio of stops in Mexico before arriving to the U.S., where they will play several dozen cities across the country. While the group is slated to perform a few shows in and around the Midwest, PIQNIQ currently marks their only Illinois stop.

Adding further 80s inspiration to the PIQNIQ bill are the New York-formed alternative rockers Bleachers. While the group, fronted by Jack Antonoff, is not currently touring, they do have a number of festival appearances on the 2017 docket including Sasquatch! Music Festival in May and The Governors Ball Music Festival in June.

Arizona-born alternative rockers Jimmy Eat World will bring their beloved brand of emo to the Chicagoland PIQNIQ festival, amidst an already busy touring schedule that will see them making stops across the U.S., South America and Europe. Jim Adkins and company will kick things off later this month on a trek that will see the group performing on and off from now until late August.

Joining The 1975, Bleachers and Jimmy Eat World for the 2017 rendition of 101 WKQX’s PIQNIQ are Sum 41, Highly Suspect, Joywave, K.Flay and WarPaint. As if that isn’t enough, the festival promises to announce more in the coming months.

Tickets are currently available through a pre-sale from now until Thursday after which the general sale will begin Friday, Feb. 10 at 10am. Visit 101 WKQX for more information on 2017 PIQNIQ Festival and click here for a chance to win tickets.
