The Japanese House, the childhood vacation home but also music project/moniker for English indie pop musician, Amber Bain. At an early age she learned to play music from her father and started creating It professionally through friends in the band 1975. Pitchfork described her early in her career as “a soft-spoken, queer 19-year-old girl with Kurt Cobain hair and boyish style” Similarly enough to Cobain she very humbly continues to make a name for herself with her music.
Recently releasing her second album, In the End It Always Does back in June and landing on many critics’ top album list of 2023 (including my own) and seemingly grateful to be playing to a sold out Metro full of Gen Z fans singing along with their phones pointed to her was a perfect way to close out the weekend.
