The Magnetic Fields’ 69 Love Songs 25th Anniversary Tour to stop at Thalia Hall 4/17 – 4/20

Magnetic Fields

For the first time in over 20 years, The Magnetic Fields will be performing their breakthrough 1999 album, 69 Love Songs, live. For these performances, composer Stephin Merritt will be joined by original band members Sam Davol and Shirley Simms as well as Chris Ewen and Anthony Kaczynski.

The 69 Love Songs 25th Anniversary Tour kicks-off in North Adams, MA on March 22-23 before passing through Boston, New York, Los Angeles and other great cities. There are four Chicago shows taking place at Thalia Hall on April 17-20 and the U.S. leg of the tour will conclude in Seattle on Nov. 1-2.

In celebration of this iconic release, Merritt and company will perform the album in full order over two nights, with one half of the triple-disc album performed each night, just as it was originally performed in the 2000s. Not surprisingly, tickets for this highly-anticipated tour are selling fast as 69 Love Songs landed on year-end lists in Rolling Stone, The New York Times, SPIN and more back when it was released in 1999.
