Boston Calling Comedy Experience feats. Hannibal Buress, Tig Notaro, Pete Holmes & more

Boston Calling Festival will be bringing the laughs this year with a newly-announced Comedy Experience hosted by Hannibal Buress. The Chicago native will be joined by a handful of top-tier comedians including Pete Holmes and Tig Notaro.

Eugene Mirman, Lamont Price, Kate Berlant and John Early, Phoebe Robinson, Jordan Rock, Kelly MacFarland, Bethany Van Delft, Josh Johnson and Nick Chambers will help fill out this year’s Boston Calling comedy lineup. The Comedy Experience will be split across the three-day festival (four sets per day), with Holmes leading Friday night, Buress taking top billing on Saturday and Notaro on Sunday.

Buress and company will be replacing the previously-announced film festival series curated by actress Natalie Portman, which Boston Calling organizers say will be rescheduled for “a future edition of the festival.”

“I’m excited to take a break from my construction business to bring my unbridled energy to the Boston Calling festival,” Buress said in a recent statement. “When Boston calls, I send it to voicemail three times and then text it at 3am. You up?”

Boston Calling goes down May 26-28 at the Harvard Athletic Complex. The festival will feature performances by Tool, Mumford & Sons, Chance The Rapper, Bon Iver, The XX, Major Lazer, Weezer, The 1975, Sigur Ros, Solange, Run The Jewels, Cage The Elephant, Tegan & Sara, Mac DeMarco, Brandi Carlile, Sylvan Esso and many more.
