Last week, Everclear kicked-off a 43-date tour that celebrates the 30th anniversary of their seminal album, Sparkle and Fade.
“It’s been really hard to get my head around the fact that it’s been 30 years since the release of ‘Sparkle and Fade,’” said vocalist, guitarist and founder Art Alexakis in a statement. “It’s also kind of mind-boggling to understand how much of an impact this album has had on my life, the world around me, and from what I hear from fans all over the world, how much of an impact it has had on them too. ‘Sparkle and Fade’ was not the first album I had made, but it was the album I had wanted to make my whole life. It changed everything for me and Everclear. Because of its success and lasting impact, this band has survived and prospered for three decades, and this tour is another way of us saying ‘thank you’ to all of the incredible fans – old and new. If you are a fan of this record, you do not want to miss this!”
The tour began in Los Angeles on Sept. 4 and is making stops in Portland, Denver, Austin, and other great cities. There is a Chicago performance scheduled to take place at Thalia Hall on Nov. 2, which will also conclude the tour.
Adding to the fun, Everclear has recruited special guest Local H and Sponge to join them throughout the run.
