Thursday celebrated not one, not two, but three album anniversaries with a furious show at Metro in Chicago on April 24. The performance, dubbed Thursday presents…Full City Devolución, marked the milestones of 25 years of Full Collapse, 20 years of A City by the Light Divided, and 15 years of No Devolución. From start to finish, the band – Geoff Rickly (vocals), Tom Keeley (lead guitar, backing vocals), Steve Pedulla (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), Tim Payne (bass), and Tucker Rule (drums) – brought a ferocious yet fun energy that reverberated across the packed venue.
After an opening set full of hits and fan requests from Chris Conley of Saves the Day, Thursday began the No Devolución portion of the evening with “Empty Glass,” which Rickly sang somberly from the upper balcony. All hell broke loose when he and his bandmates unleashed “Fast to the End” and “No Answers,” with everyone now at their rightful place on stage. “Turnpike Divides” concluded the chapter before “Counting 5-4-3-2-1” ushered in the A City by the Light Divided portion of the program.

“We’re staying with the theme of that last song, which [means] it’s another song about New Jersey coming up. And I’m sure being a city like Chicago, you already know this, but any band from New Jersey signs a contract that 50% of their music will be about the State of New Jersey,” said Rickly introducing “Counting.” “As a result, there are a lot of songs about getting the fuck out of New Jersey. “We figured out a loophole, which is we can go on tour, and we end up in the fucking paradise of Chicago having the best day with all our friends. And, at the end of the tour, we say, fuck, back to New Jersey.”
“The Other Side of the Crash/Over and Out (of Control),” “The Lovesong Writer,” and “At This Velocity” followed with “Sugar in the Sacrament” serving as the conclusion of the first set.

Rickly joked about how the band has been doing a “great magic trick” on this tour as they were about to leave the stage “a bunch of sad boys from New Jersey” and, after a 10-minute intermission, they would return as a hardcore band.
The Full Collapse set delivered on that promise and fans were treated to songs like “Autobiography of a Nation,” “A Hole in the World,” “Understanding in a Car Crash,” and more.
