New York City-based comedian, filmmaker, and actor Edy Modica’s debut comedy special is set for a wide release with its YouTube Premiere on Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
The special, entitled I’m Just Like You (And It Sucks), finds Modica exploring her longing for human connection. From making out with a pair of brothers on a cruise to talking to stains on her aunt’s carpet, the comedian finds jokes in all of life’s ups and downs.
Said Modica, “we are all insane, complex perverts which means none of us are! And isn’t that beautiful?!!?!”
I’m Just Like You, (And It Sucks) was directed by Ben O’Brien with DP Alex Bliss and editor Danny Scharar. It was shot at The Slipper Room in NYC in 2025.
