Breaking Benjamin has come back to Chicago to rock out at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre once again but this time, I can hands down say this is not only their best show I have ever seen them play but also some of the best openers they could’ve had! For starters, you have Kami Kehoe who is not only a bad ass singer but a phenomenal drummer! Then you have one of my favorite intergalactic theme bands, Starset. Lastly you have Chicago’s own, Chevelle as the direct support for the night! It really is a great rock line up for this summer!
For this tour, Breaking Benjamin did a little something different and nostalgic since this is officially their 25th year of their debut album! This is not an official tour for that album but it does lean into some early 2000’s nostalgia. Like before the band takes the stage, the screen behind them shows an old windows computer screen logging in, going to Limewire to download old music and then showing Halo the video game. All before the band came out and started playing “I Will Not Bow”. I can honestly say for the whole show, the graphics behind the band were just killer in every possible way! Especially if your a long term Breaking Benjamin Fan or if you ever played Halo or had even an old desktop!

Breaking Ben played about an hour and a half set but the energy made the time go by so fast! Ben, the singer of Breaking Benjamin, would of course at times tell a little story about certain songs while also thanking all of the fans who came out to see them but also supported them all these years along with all the bands who have been on this crazy but great tour with them! Overall, I loved seeing Breaking Benjamin again, they are one of those bands I always try and see whenever they are on tour but this tour was just something special! Even the lighting was just spectacular. If you can, go see Breaking Benjamin but on this tour especially!
Chicago’s own Chevelle is the direct support for this tour and also gave such a killer set. Even though it was a shorter set, Chevelle didn’t let that stop them from giving an amazing show in their home state of IL. Pete, the singer of Chevelle even talked about coming to Credit Union 1 Amp when he was much younger and seeing Lollapalooza here which is such a throw back but also stating how thankful he is for seeing bands performing at this venue to now also being able to perform here.

Chevelle also did play a few jokes like Pete saying “Here is Sweet Caroline” then ripping right into “The Red” which had fans screaming from excitement. Pete also came off the stage to shred his guitar in front of fans which just adds to the up close and personal vibes! I have only seen Chevelle once before but this show… something just felt different but in a great way and I hope to see them again!

Starset performs at Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre in Tinley Park on Sept. 18, 2026.
Starset is one of those bands I have honestly been dying to see again because they don’t just rock out, they do a full on performance. In case you didn’t know, every starset tour is different. From the story line, the costumes, and even the setlist. No Starset show is ever the same and every tour is unique. The best way to explain their set is “think space and Sci-Fi.” The whole band comes out in unique outfits and helmets and most times, singer Dustin Bates, will change into something easier to move around in but the intro outfit. Starset music however is like Sci-Fi but I also feel is fully up to interpretation on how you hear the song which I also really like!
Lastly, Kami Kehoe was the opener! Now, I’ve never heard of Kami but I found out very fast how talented she is! Kami is a drummer first I would say and a singer second. I say this because when she took the stage, she went right for the drum set and played a drum solo before she started her set. I was absolutely blown away because she was just incredible and it was also not expected!

After the drum solo, I watched Kami get on the mic while the rest of her band took the stage and realized, Kami is definitely an up and coming artist that we should keep on our radar! With some powerful vocals and her Genre blending sound, it makes sense why she has already gained such a huge following on her social media and why fans were there so early, ready to see her take the stage!
