Watch the trailer for Tracy Morgan’s new special ‘Staying Alive’ on Netflix

After a long and arduous journey, following a near-fatal accident that left him in a coma, Tracy Morgan is on the verge of releasing his new Netflix stand-up special, Staying Alive, which airs globally on the streaming service next week. See the special’s newly-released official trailer above.

On June 8, 2014, Morgan was rushed to the hospital in critical condition following an accident in which his limo bus was struck by a truck driver. Low and behold, just a few short years later the comedian is looking healthy and strong — as evidenced by the above trailer — riffing on his physical & mental health as well as sharing stories about meeting and speaking with God while in a coma.

Less than a year and a half after his accident, Morgan miraculously returned to host Season 41, Episode 3 of Saturday Night Live (which aired Oct. 17, 2015). The 30 Rock star later returned to play one of “Beyonce’s Babies” in Season 42, Episode 14 (Jan. 26, 2017). Among his other recent projects are roles in the feature comedy films Fist Fight and The Clapper as well as the forthcoming Bill Condon-directed bio pic Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said. Morgan was also at the center of a massive tour in 2016, entitled Picking Up The Pieces.

Morgan’s Staying Alive premieres on Netflix on Tuesday, May 16.
