Jordan Klepper takes on mainstream media in new ‘The Opposition’ clip

Comedy Central’s new late-night series The Opposition with Jordan Klepper is slated to debut on Sept. 25 and to help give viewers a tiny taste of what’s in store, the network has just released a three minute clip of host Jordan Klepper hard at work. Watch as he challenges the mainstream media and gathers signatures to impeach Hillary Clinton.

“Look closely. You’re gonna see a lot of cameras out there… and that’s the mainstream media,” warns Klepper in the promo video above. “Don’t trust anyone who’s talking to a camera.” Klepper goes on to discuss political hot topics with a handful of attendees at a recent Trump rally in Phoenix. “We are anti-mainstream, anti-Soros; anti-globalist,” ” explains the host to one subject. We’re anti-Oprah’s Book Club. We’re anti-pho. Not antifa, the movement — the Vietnamese soup.”

Klepper broke through as a correspondent on The Daily Show. He more recently debuted an hour-long investigative comedy special back in June entitled Jordan Klepper Solves Guns, which saw the comedian-writer-actor attempting to provide solutions to the many gun problems facing America.

The Opposition will follow Comedy Central’s flagship news satire series The Daily Show. Not much is known about the format of Klepper’s new show and to what extent it will incorporate desk pieces and sit-down interviews but, from the looks of the clip above, it will certainly feature a healthy dose of field work.
