The B-52s plot expansive 40th Anniversary World Tour

The B52s

The B-52s have just announced an expansive 40th Anniversary World Tour. With over 40 shows in almost as many cities, the New Wave legends will be busy for most of the summer.

The 2019 tour kicks off with a stop at Sunfest in West Pal Beach, FL on May 4. Dates in Arlington, TX and Nashville, TN follow, prior to the group’s heading overseas for a spat of European dates. Upon returning to the U.S., the Georgia-born dance rockers will make stops in San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Austin, New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit, and Philadelphia, prior to concluding with a show at Central Park’s Summerstage in New York City on Sept. 24.

In addition to the summer tour dates, The B-52s are working with exec producer Fred Armisen and director Craig Johnson (Skeleton Twins, Wilson) to develop an authorized documentary film of the group. They also have a new memoir expected to hit store shelves in 2020 that will explore the band’s colorful history.

The B-52s’ 2019 tour will see support from OMD and Berlin on select North American dates. Check out the complete list of tour dates (more expected to be added in the future) below. Tickets go on sale on April 12. For more information, visit The B-52s’ official website.
