Kumail Nanjiani & Ilana Glazer join Issa Rae in Clusterfest ‘Clueless’ live read


Clusterfest 2019: Clueless

The comedy & music extravaganza known as Clusterfest is fast approaching. With less than two months to go, festival organizers have just announced the full cast lineups for the previously-announced live-readings of Clueless and Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion.

Clueless, which will see Issa Rae in the role of Alicia Silverstone’s Cher, will be enlisting the talents of Ilana Glazer, Kumail Nanjiani, Amanda Seales, Sinbad and more. Glazer will take on the role of new kid Tai (originally played by the late Brittany Murphy), while Seales will play Cher’s best friend Dionne (originally by Stacey Dash). Nanjiani will fill the shoes of Cher’s former stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd), while Chris Redd will play Murray (Donald Faison).

Additionally, Arturo Castro will play Cher’s crush Christian, Sinbad will play her father Mel and Jaboukie Young-White, Jeff Ross, Langston Kerman and Quinta Brunson will help round out the cast. Narration will be provided by Janet Varney and music will be provided by Red Room Orchestra with Special Guest Jill Sobule.

Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion will see Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova in the lead roles (originally played by Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow), with additional support from Peaches Christ in the role of Heather (originally by Janeane Garofalo), Matteo Lane as Sandy Frink (Alan Cumming) and Nicole Byer in a handful of roles. Narration will be provided by Guy Branum with music by Brickhouse.

Clusterfest 2019 will feature comedy by John Mulaney, Tig Notaro, Patton Oswalt, Neal Brennan, Fred Armisen, Whitney Cummings, Anthony Jeselnik, Chelsea Peretti, Todd Barry, Nick Thune and many more. On the music front, The Roots, Courtney Barnett and Girl Talk are slated to perform.
