Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have just announced a new EP, Black Star Dancing. The group also shared the album’s title track, which fans can check out below.

“Black Star Dancing” is a definite departure from the band’s conventional sound, with the group pivoting from their traditional rock construct to a disco dance vibe. “It manages to combine the influences of David Bowie, INXS, U2, Queen, Indeep AND ZZ Top FFS!,” Gallagher said of the new track. “I might have been watching too much Top Of The Pops recently… anyway, it’s ‘dope’… not my words, but the words of Nile Rodgers who literally danced in the studio when he heard it!”

Black Star Dancing marks the followup to Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ 2017 LP Who Built the Moon? The newly-announced EP is made up of five tracks including “Rattling Rose,” “Sail On” and a couple alternate versions of “Black Star Dancing.”

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ Black Star Dancing EP is slated for a digital and 12” vinyl release on June 14. The group will subsequently tour across the U.S. with The Smashing Pumpkins beginning this August.
