Listen to all 36 hours of Woodstock front-to-back on WXPN

Woodstock WXPN

It seems folks just can’t get enough of Woodstock. The iconic 1969 music festival has been all the rage in recent months, mostly due to Woodstock 50‘s demise back in July, but with the 50th anniversary front and center, fans can relive the the legendary concert on Max Yasgur’s Bethel, NY dairy farm by tuning into Philadelphia’s WXPN 88.5 FM public radio.

Beginning tonight (Aug. 15) at 5:07 p.m. ET, the station will begin airing the uncut audio from the original Woodstock, playing the festival front-to-back in its entirety. Woodstock — As It Happened — 50 Years On will feature all 32 artists who appeared at the fest, uncut, exactly as they were heard on the farm some 50 years ago.

WXPN will source their 36-hours of audio from Rhino Entertainment’s newly-released Woodstock — Back to the Garden: The Definitive 50th Anniversary Archive box set, airing the fest complete with breaks and stage announcements. Ultimately, the radio broadcast will play out on the exact same days at the exact same time (only 50 years later), mirroring each and every moment from the original festival.

“WXPN is going to pay the most effective tribute to the music, the way it was originally performed, at exactly the same times the sets were performed to give our listeners a feel for how it all really went down,” said WXPN Associate General Manager for Programming Bruce Warren.

Tune into WXPN tonight (Aug. 15) at 5:07 p.m. ET.
