For the first time since 2011, Ladytron is returning to Chicago.

The experimental synth pop quartet – comprised of Helen Marnie, Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt and Reuben Wu – will be taking the stage at Metro on Dec. 11 armed with a slew of dreamy new material from their eponymous sixth LP which dropped earlier this year.

The video for “Deadzone” has already garnered high praise for its ability to illustrate the group’s hypnotic rhythms and otherworldly phrasing with a compelling visual story of a head on collision.

“It is a nightmarish scenario that depicts the meeting of two worlds. Imagine being in the midst of a dream and being unable to shout or scream or move, and ultimately not knowing whether you are dead or alive. That is the Deadzone,” said Marnie, who appears as one of the passengers in the Bryan M. Ferguson-directed video, in a statement.

The new video for the single “Tower of Glass” is expected to premiere during the first week of December.

The Chicago stop follows a slew of tour dates that found the British band performing across the globe from New York to Toronto, Edinburgh to Boston. The 2019 tour will conclude at The UC Theatre in Berkeley on Dec. 14.
