Maria Bamford has eloquently and hilariously worked to eliminate stigmas surrounding mental illness through her comedy. From stand-up to her Netflix series, Lady Dynamite, to candid interviews, Bamford has never shied away from sharing her own struggles or creating an opportunity for conversation.
Beginning on Dec. 26, Bamford will have an all new avenue to address this topic with her new talk show, What’s Your Ailment?!. Throughout the series – which will stream on Topic – the comedian will chat with performers about their experiences with mental health.
According to Deadline, Tom Arnold and Rachel Bloom are among the guests slated to appear during the eight-episode season.
Bamford will be closing out her 2019 touring schedule with an appearance on Live From Here with Chris Thile during its Dec. 14 stop – also featuring Sara Bareilles, Sarah Jarosz and Dave Hill – at The Town Hall in New York City. She also has several performances scheduled for 2020 including a four-night run at The Den in Chicago – featuring local comedian Alex Kumin – on April 30 through May 3.
