HBO viewers already love Yvonne Orji as the smart and loyal Molly on Insecure, and they are about to experience even more of her humor as she is set to tape her debut stand-up special for the network at the end of this month.

The special taping will take place before a live audience at Howard University in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, Feb. 29. Orji also wrote and produced the show which is directed by Chris Robinson and executive produced by Michelle Caputo and Shannon Hartman. The special will also feature footage shot in Nigeria – where Orji was born – from early-January.

Along with starring in Insecure, Orji has also appeared in such films as Night School and Vacation Friends and is the author of the upcoming book Bamboozled by Jesus: How God Tricked Me into Life of My Dreams. Orji is also the co-host of the podcast Jesus & Jollof alongside Luvvie Ajayi and she is the creator of the sitcom, First Gen.

Orji has spent much of 2020 on the road on her Lagos to Laurel Comedy Tour.

Orji’s HBO special is likely to air later this year and Insecure season four is set to premiere on April 12, 2020.
