SPACE announces virtual concert series beginning April 13

The good folks over at SPACE – a live music venue and recording studio in Evanston, IL – have announced a new string of performers participating in the virtual concert series All Dressed Up & Nowhere to Show to commune with fans while raising money for artists and staff.

The series will feature a performance from Ryley Walker at 7 p.m. CT on April 13 which can be viewed via livestream on SPACE’s Facebook page. Daniel Donato, Helen Gilette, Miles Nielsen, Laura Burhenn, Tony Lucca & Jay Nash, Blue Monday with Dave Specter and John Kattke will also be performing in the coming days.

“Our team really misses the live concert experience,” said Kristen Mitchell, Manager of Music Operations & Creative at SPACE, in a statement. “And moreover, we miss giving our customers the chance to interact with artists they know and love in an intimate way. This series is a response to something I think we’re all nostalgic for these days: community. This certainly isn’t the same as being in a room together, but experiencing the arts in a shared space—even if it’s just a digital one— offers some sense of normalcy that I think we’re all craving. SPACE looks forward to reopening when the time is right, but until then, the show must go on.”

David Ramirez and Dylan LeBlanc previously played All Dressed Up & Nowhere to Show streams and new artists will continue to be announced on the concert series’ Facebook Event page as well as at Evanstonspace.com.

All of the shows feature a virtual tip jar allowing viewers to donate to the performers as well as SPACE’s hourly staff currently out of work due to the Covid-19 stay-at-home order. A GoFundMe campaign has also been organized in support of SPACE staff.
