On July 21, the iconic record label Delmark Records will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the release of its first recording with a new anthology, available on CD, LP and digital. Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, Magic Sam, Otis Rush, Dinah Washington and many more are among the artists with songs from Delmark’s classic blues vault that will be featured on the release.
Delmark also honored this momentous occasion with several live events including a WDCB Bluesday Tuesday at Fitzgeralds Club, a fantastic showing at Chicago Blues Fest and a 70th Anniversary celebration featuring Dave Specter, Johnny Iguana, Johnny Burgin, Bob Stroger and many more.
The fun will continue this Labor Day weekend when Delmark will host their 3rd annual Rockwell Blues & Jazz Stroll and on Sept. 20 when Dave Specter will lead an all-star band of Delmark Players at Evanston’s SPACE.
