Today, Johnny Marr shared the new single “It’s Time.” The defiant, upbeat song will appear on his forthcoming studio album, The Age of Everything, which will be released on Oct. 2 via BMG.
Listen to “It’s Time” below:
“’It’s Time’ is my way of singing about some worldly issues but finding defiance, in idealism,” said Marr of the song. “I wanted a lyric that matched the exuberance of the music but is actually about resisting cynicism and corruption: ‘Everybody ain’t making it, change the weather and breaking it. Mobilise to know the truth. Open eyes to know the truth.’ I guess it’s about the assholes with dodgy views.”
The Age of Everything will be available digitally, on CD, black vinyl, limited edition red vinyl, and an official artist store exclusive limited 3 colour splatter vinyl. Click here to pre-order/pre-save The Age of Everything and more information can be found at Johnnymarr.com.
