Epic. Monumental. Grand. None of these words feel big enough to describe the visual and sonic cyclone that is Muse’s The Wow! Signal Tour. On Friday, June 10, Muse – Matt Bellamy (vocals, guitar), Dominic Howard (drums), and Chris Wolstenholme (bass), joined by touring musician Dan Lancaster – started the performance, which came on the heels of their recently-released tenth studio album, The Wow! Signal, at an 11 and the musicianship and showmanship only went up from there.

The entire evening unfolded as a musical triptych of sorts with three distinct rock bands showcasing the range of the genre. The Temper Trap – whose fourth studio album, Sungazer, was released that very day – kicked things off with a more indie and atmospheric take on the genre. The new tune “Into the Wild” delighted fans while the classic hit “Sweet Disposition” immersed the venue in its irresistible rhythms.

Up next, Bloc Party was “Coming on Strong” with their unique brand of sharp, punchy, dance-inspiring alt-rock. Drummer Louise Bartle shined on “So He Begins To Lie” as the duel guitars of Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack provided a gripping back-and-forth grounded by the steady bass of Harry Deacon.

Bloc Party also has an album dropping in 2026 and the new single “Love Bombs” easily connected with the crowd with its almost spoken-word verse, melodic chorus, and infectious instrumentation. “Blue,” a song about true love that turned out not to be perfectly true blue, hooked fans with its patient, thoughtful intro before bringing it all home with a satisfying climactic build. “Banquet,” “Helicopter,” and “Hunting for Witches” were also highlights of Bloc Party’s set.

Most bands wait until the encore to break-out some of their biggest hits, but Muse isn’t like most bands. When it came time for their highly-anticipated headlining set “Hysteria” and “Supermassive Black Hole” appeared early alongside fresh favorites like “Cryogen” and “Hexagons.” From the moment the show began, fans were smiling and singing along with every song from the British rockers’s entire discography.

The stage design featured an ever-evolving system of lights that reconfigured throughout the night to create a unique display for every chapter of the performance. Everyone cheered as Wolstenholme walked down the stage’s catwalk to start the bass-driven “Map of the Problematique” before Howard’s brilliant drums and Bellamy’s beautiful, noisy guitar added even more intrigue to the Black Holes and Revelations stand-out. “Stockholm Syndrome” was larger than life and the new song “Be With You” showcased Bellamy’s pitch-perfect vocals before an eruption of streamers and confetti poured down on fans. Who does that mid-set!?!?!?

One of the many highlights came during “Madness” as Bellamy served as a conductor of sorts leading the crowd in a giant sing-along – from the lawn to the pit – before Howard’s explosive rhythms guided the song into a goose-bump inducing crescendo. “Time is Running Out,” “Uprising,” and “Starlight” also appeared on Muse’s stacked setlist.

The Wow! Signal Tour is a masterclass in the scope and power found in the inner circle and outer reaches of Rock and Roll. That, and it’s just a damn good time.
