Five great comedians coming to Chicago this May

This May, some of the most hilarious comedians in the world are traveling to the City of Chicago to deliver what will surely be memorable performances. Whether you are a fan of one-liners, political humor or funny long-form storytelling, there is live stand-up fun for everyone in the coming weeks

Paula Poundstone

Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me! regular Paula Poundstone is stopping by Thalia Hall for a pair of shows on May 13. Her quick wits and crowd work have helped her to become recognized as one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time. Every one of Poundstone’s sets is always unique so don’t miss out on what could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Neil Hamburger

Neil Hamburger is a true original in the world of stand-up comedy. His pointed one-liners target spoiled celebrities, has-been musicians and all-around garbage people with hysterical punchlines.

If you love insult-filled laughter, be sure to pick-up tickets to his May 10 performance at Lincoln Hall where he will be joined by Major Entertainer Mike H.

Nikki Glaser

Another day, another great comedy show at Thalia Hall. Nikki Glaser (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser, Nikki & Sara Live) will be sharing her thoughts on sex, relationships and much more during her 9 p.m. Set on Friday, May 19. Tom Thakkar will also be on hand for this must-see, 18+ show.

Nick Thune

Bona fide “Good Guy,” Nick Thune, is returning to Chicago on May 17 for a performance at Schubas, which will also feature an opening set from Emily Heller. Thune is still fresh on the heels of his 2016 special, so we don’t know what to expect from his Proud of Myself Tour, except that it will be full of his unique brand of hilarious storytelling.

Ricky Gervais

On May 24 & 25, Ricky Gervais is bringing his Humanity Tour to the Chicago Theatre. No topic is off limits for The Office star as religion, politics, sex and anything else your not supposed to discuss in public are regularly mined for comedy gold. This is his first tour in seven years, so you don’t want to snooze on seeing him live.
