The 4th of July is right around the corner and Broad City’s Abbi Abrams and Ilana Wexler are here to help celebrate with a good old fashioned hot dog eating contest. Abbi and Ilana’s new Hack Into Broad City follows last month’s arrival of the Broad City Season 4 trailer. The clip, which came courtesy of Comedy Central, was jam-packed with the usual craziness as well as a number of cameos from forthcoming series guest stars including RuPaul, Steve Buscemi and more.
Broad City Season 4 was expected to return on Aug. 23 but it looks as though the premiere date has now been pushed back. The new date, appearing at the end of the above Hack Into Broad City, promises a Sept. 13 premiere.
No word on why the series has been pushed back but the show’s stars, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, have certainly been busy as of late. Glazer, a co-star in the recently-released comedy feature film Rough Night, and Jacobson, now the host of a newly-announced modern art podcast entitled A Piece of Work, have openly admitting to facing extensive rewrites on the new season of Broad City in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential victory.
Regardless of reason, fans will now have to wait an additional three weeks longer than originally expected for the show’s return on Sept. 13. In the meantime, devotees can watch the duo get crazy with the wacky tobacky in this Hack Into Broad City clip, which arrived in April just in time to celebrate 4/20.
