Violent Femmes are teaming up with X for a North American tour. The co-headlining tour, which will see the pair making stops in nine cities across the U.S., will kick off this May.
The Violent Femmes and X’s forthcoming tour will begin with a show at Humphrey’s in San Diego on May 5. The duo will then make stops in Phoenix, Houston, Austin, Tulsa, Memphis and more before closing things out with a performance at The Pageant in St. Louis on May 17.
Prior to hitting the road with X, the Violent Femmes will perform at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV and Beachlife in Redondo Beach, CA on May 3 and 4 respectively. Likewise, the group will take the stage (sans X) at The Sylvee in Madison WI on May 18.
Last year saw Violent Femmes released a collection of live recordings, 2 Mics & the Truth: Unplugged & Unhinged in America, which is now available on CD, digital download and 140g limited edition double vinyl. X also, not long ago, announced the reissuing and remastering of their first four albums, Los Angeles (to be released Feb. 22), Wilde Gift (available Mar. 22), Under The Big Black Sun (Apr. 12) and More Fun In The New World (Apr. 12). The Los Angeles punk group, who hasn’t recorded new material since 1984, also recently announced their return to the studio.
