The Kates to perform via Zoom for a fundraiser for The Book Cellar

The Kates

The Kates – Chicago’s beloved all female identified comedy showcase – is hosting the Stay Home Laugh In Fundraiser at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 28 in support of the group’s comedy home, The Book Cellar, an independent book store in Lincoln Square.

Small businesses, like The Book Cellar, and their staff are among the hardest hit economically due to Covid-19 so a few Kates are going to perform from their homes via Zoom and fans can stream it live on The Kates Facebook Page. Just like traditional Kates shows at The Book Cellar, the group is asking for suggested donations and all proceeds from the fundraiser will go to The Book Cellar.

The show is considered PG-13 and donations to The Book Cellar can be made via Venmo (click here) or PayPal (click here).

“If you tune in to the kates FB page on March 28th at 7pm CST and can spare a few bucks for Suzy and her staff, that would be tops,” read a message from Kelsie Huff and The Kates which also noted the Venmo and PayPal links. “If you are struggling financially during this time (like many of us) and can’t spare anything. No worries, we 100% understand. Please still enjoy the laughs with the kates LIVE on Facebook – Saturday, March 28th at 7pm CST.”

Head over to The Kates Facebook page at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, March 28 to watch this sure-to-be hilarious fundraiser and more information on The Book Cellar can be found at Bookcellarinc.com.
