Jim James, Ani DiFranco, Rufus Wainwright & more to play Save The Senate Festival

Save the Senate Festival

A group of amazing musicians are getting together in the virtual realm to help turn Georgia blue and fundraise for the senate runoff elections.

On Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. ET, the Save The Senate Festival will feature one-song performances by Rufus Wainwright, Jim James, Ani DiFranco, Sadie Dupuis, Okkervil River and many more artists. All proceeds from the event go to Fairfight.com, the organization founded by Stacy Abrams to fight voter suppression and advocate for free and fair elections, and will be used to help the campaigns of democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

Los Angeles artists Johanna Samuels and Ben Lee, Fortune Tellers Music and Sid the Cat put together the event which will stream via Noonchorus. Tickets are $15 and there is an option to donate more.

If Warnock and Ossoff win the Georgia Senate runoffs on Jan. 5, the Senate will flip to Democratic control. This will give the incoming Biden administration a greater chance of passing important legislation and it will impede Mitch McConnell’s ability to block democratic initiatives.
