CatSong Festival

Yusuf/Cat Stevens has announced a special live YouTube broadcast, CatSong Festival, to stream on Dec. 5 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of his 1970 albums Tea for the Tillerman and Mona Bone Jakon.

Dave Matthews, Jack Johnson, Haim, Feist and Brandon Boyd of Incubus are among the over 40 artists performing songs from the legendary artist’s catalog. Fans can look forward to hearing such classics as “Wild World,” “Peace Train” and “Father and Son.”

The event’s press release reveals that Stevens is said to be optimistic that this event will give artists a chance to share their talents with his and each other’s audiences. He is also hopeful that live music will continue to thrive during the ongoing pandemic.

“It’s great to see and hear these covers of my songs given new life. There’s no better honour for a songwriter than to have his songs performed by talented musicians with such love and sincerity. Thank you,” he says on his website.
