IAN SWEET, the stage name and band led by Los Angeles indie rocker, Jilian Medford made a real splash on the scene back in 2016 with her debut record, Shapeshifter. A period in my life where I was in a personal music black hole unaware of so many great bands like Medford’s. Lucky for me eight years later the band has a more in depth catalog of music for me to experience their evolution up to their most current release, Sucker. The innocence and rawness of their debut album are replaced with wisdom and vulnerability as Medford reflects and sings her way through a bad relationship. What’s been a constant throughout their music is a relatability we can have with what she sings about. Empty Bottle was the perfect setting to celebrate the band’s new album, sing along with their catchy choruses and get over an ex.
