My Oh My AQUA has reunited and is back on tour singing all your favorite hits including “My Oh My,” “Around The World,” “Lollipop,” and of course “Barbie Girl” because how could they not play that song! It’s AQUA and the Barbie movie just came out so this is truly just perfect timing if you ask me! The best part about this show was not just the bands performance or them reuniting but seeing them sell out the House of Blues Chicago and all the fans dressed up in glitter and pink! So many fans were also crying when Réne or Lene would come off the stage and stand on the barricade to not only hug fans but sing to them! Especially during “My Oh My” and “Barbie Girl!” Something else to also note about Aqua in case you are on the edge about seeing them live is this band loves interacting with their fans! They love being in the photo pit just hugging and singing with their fans or even clicking drinks together and cheering! AQUA also took a second to recognize how lucky they were to be here with their fans but also how they are still changing lives all these years later! It truly was a very touching moment and you can tell how it hit home for a lot of fans!
Overall, I loved AQUA! I have always loved them in general but I now have a new appreciation for them and also didn’t realize how many songs I knew live until just now! If you can, or are on the fence about seeing AQUA, I highly recommend it because it was one of the best shows I have seen all year! I truly felt like I was living in a “Barbie Girl” fantasy with all of the best Barbies and Kens!
