Alec Baldwin and Donald Trump have pretty much become synonymous due to the former’s comedic embodiment on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Now watch as the actor and SNL regular adds Founding Father George Washington into the mix in the trailer for Spike’s One Night Only tribute roast, creating a ridiculous fusion of epic political comedy proportions.
“I come to you this Independence Day with a special message,” says Baldwin’s mutant multi-presidential figure. “First, you’re welcome, for your amazing freedoms, all this tremendous democracy. I grabbed so much freedom from those British losers. When you’re president they let you do it.” Baldwin goes on to incorporate other reality inspired bits into the teaser trailer, while also poking fun at both Trump and himself.
There will likely be quite a bit of Baldwin bashing in the forthcoming One Night Only roast of the 30 Rock star coming later this week. Kate McKinnon (aka Baldwin’s SNL nemesis Hillary Clinton), Jack McBrayer, Jane Krakowski, Tracy Morgan, Julianne Moore, Robert De Niro, Bill Clinton, Hilaria & Ireland Baldwin all appeared at the event as roasters, which means there will be plenty of comedic talent on-hand to take aim at the man behind Jack Donaghy.
One Night Only: Alec Baldwin was taped live at the Apollo Theater in New York City on Sunday, June 25. It will air on Spike this Sunday, July 9 at 9 p.m.
