Marc Maron Waiting for the Punch new book

Comedian, podcaster, actor and author Marc Maron has new book coming out on Oct. 10. Waiting For The Punch: Words to Live by from the WTF Podcast will explore some of the many conversational highlights from the multi-talented alt-comic’s weekly podcast and radio show.

Waiting For The Punch, featuring a foreword by John Oliver, is the followup to Maron’s 2014 book Attempting Normal. Just like the comedian’s WTF Podcast, his latest work tackles a smorgasbord of interesting topics including childhood, success, sexuality, parenting and more, each covered in its own in-depth chapter.

In Waiting For The Punch, readers get a collection of interviews with some of the biggest musicians, comedians and entertainers in the world including Louis C.K., Kevin Hart, Lena Dunham, Patton Oswalt, Leslie Jones and Lorne Michaels. From The Boss aka Bruce Springsteen, who shares his thoughts on the power of desperation, to mega-comedian Amy Schumer, who dives deep into the pain of her parents’ divorce, to our 44th President Barack Obama, who candidly discusses the difficulties faced leading the free world and the bittersweet moments watching his children grow up, Maron chats with some of the most beloved and talented people of our time.

Maron wrapped up his namesake IFC series back in July of last year. More recently, he guest-starred in a hilarious episode of Joe Swanberg’s Netflix series Easy (definitely check it out) and he will be appearing in the network’s forthcoming female wrestling comedy show GLOW, premiering June 23.
