Chicago rock fans whose hearts skip a beat at the deafening sounds of feedback, distortion, fuzzy guitar solos and relentless drums had a lot to love this Valentine’s Day as Soul Asylum and Local H performed an unforgettable concert at Metro on Feb. 14.

Local H kicked things off with a pair of quasi-romantic tunes in “Freshly F*cked” and “Lovey Dovey” before unleashing a set full of the group’s biggest hits including “Bound for the Floor,” “Fritz’s Corner” and “High-Fiving MF.” With their new album Lifers set to drop on April 10, the Chicago duo – Scott Lucas and Ryan Harding – also previewed the release with a blistering performance of their latest single, “Turn the Bow.”

Soul Asylum’s new album, Hurry Up and Wait, is also dropping this spring (April 17), and Dave Pirner and company shared “Dead Letter” and “If I Told You” with the Chicago crowd. Fan favorites – including “Somebody To Shove,” “Misery” and “Runaway Train” – also appeared on the evening’s comprehensive setlist.

Soul Asylum and Local H will continue to tour across the U.S. through mid-March. Check out photos from their stop at Metro in Chicago below and head over to Soulasylum.com to pick-up tickets to the remaining tour dates.
